neutralisation

Aim:To observe a neutralisation reaction

method: Add approximately 1-2 of Na2CO3 and place the test tube into the test tube  rack.Add 3-5 drops of universal indicator solution.Using a dropper bottle,add HCI drop by drop.Be careful because adding even a small amount of extra acid can mean you'll miss the neutralisation point.

discussion:We disscused things like colour changes that would occur using the universal indicator.We disscused certain colours we could try get using different amounts of something being added into the test tubes.

Conclusion:overall i learnt a lot of things about neutralistion in this expiriment,I espesically learnt  a number of things about the universal indicator and why its very important to make the colours come out

Making indicators

Aim: To make acid base indicators out of everyday indicators

Method:For the cabbage Chop the cabbage into small  pieces until you have enough to fill 2 cups,Place the cabbage in a large beaker and add water to cover the cabbage.In a large beaker and add water to cover the cabbage,Boil over a Bunsen burner for at least ten mins for the colour to leach out of the cabbage,Filter out the plant material to obtain a red-purple-bluish coloured liquid.This liquid is at about ph 7.(The exact colour you get depends on the ph of the water,Place in a small beaker and leave to one side,Repeat this method acid for the beetroot.

Results:

 

Disscussion: We boiled the cabbage,We then put the cabbage indicator into two spottng tile holes.we then dropped HCI(acid) into each of the indicators for the rest we put in naOH(Alakali base) we also did this with the other indicaors-Tea,cranberry juice,tumeric,beetroot

Conclusion:in conclusion this expiriment was great to see what colours would occur using base and acid using everyday household products

Film techniques and sexy paragraphs

Statement: Close ups  are used in scenes to show a clear close shot of someone or something.These close ups are usually used most effectively to look at a person’s face to show what’s going on

Example:When a close up shot is taking place in a movie it is close to a persons face and you can usually hear what they are saying,For example in this scene of the movie sergeant borman and geil peet are both in a close up shot.Sergent Borman is threatining geel peit to tell him what the others are singing in the background

explain: close up shots shots are used to intenstify the moment,Directors do this to make the audience feel differen types of emotions for example in this scene where geel peit is being threated it makes you feel scared,worired ect

link:From the statement given above many close up shots are used in movies,films,tv shows ect to show whats going on in different types of intensifiying scenes,Overall close up shots are great for these reason becasue 

Atomic science

Aim: Our aim was to create a model that showcasing our understanding  of atomic science

Equipment:
Paper
Cello tape
Beads
Blue tac
Scissors
String

Method: We cut out paper in circles and cut a holes in the middle and used them for the outside shells,We got a piece of string and stuck it to the shells with cello tape,We then got a piece of blue tac and used beads and that was our nucleus,We then put beads on the blue tac.And our model was complete

Results:My model turned out good and I now have a better understanding on atoms,It taught me a couple things on the nucleus and particles in an atom

Discussion:basically all that happened was we made this model to get a better understanding of atoms

Conclusion:We made this 3D model and it was good to learn about electrons,Protons and neutrons

Three main particles in and atom are:

neutrons
Electron
Our beads that were stuck to our blue tac acted these particles

Electrons surround the outter shell, they’re also known as orbitals ,And they around the outside of the nucleus

My model has 5 protons,6 neutrons,5electrons and a mass of 11
